Eyehategod merch

EHG is a great sludge metal band from LA and we’re currently learning several of their songs to play in our cover band. They were also close with grindcore band AxCx.

My favorite album is Southern Discomfort.

This is a patch on John’s battle vest he got sometime at their concert in 2017 in Richmond.

“10 years of abuse and still broke” black tshirt gets chuckles from everyone who sees it and I still giggle pretty hard myself at it too.

This sticker is currently on my car and I got it off redbubble.

As I’ve found with most sludge metal bands I like, their cds and vinyl are going to cost you, and EHGs are generally easier to find for sale (they might cost you for the original releases, like Southern Discomfort). Their song New Orleans is the new Vietnam was the first actual song I learned on the electric guitar.

I also love hunting, gardening, fishing, foraging, and basket weaving (anything that contributes to self-survival).

David still trying to teach me how to do successful bends because if they’re even a tad bit flat, he loses his mind a bit lol. “YOU HAVE TO BEND IT MORE LIZZIE!”

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Image
I started listening to Godspeed around the age of 13. My birthday present from Dad that year was a green iPod nano (that I still have) preloaded with 8g of postrock and postmetal. Their albums on there:  F#A# infinity - whole album is good- obviously dead flag blues was great.

Deadend Shrednecks Intro

Image
David and I formed the “Deadend Shrednecks” in March 2026 and got the idea because we live on a deadend street. We started this band in memory of John Berlin and is dedicated to him. We wanted to learn some of our favorite songs we all used to listen to together. We're hoping to bring some good memories to people, as a lot of the bands we listened to provided so many core memories to us.
